Infinite Wordle, the way you actually want to play
A Wordle-style guessing game without the one-puzzle-a-day rule. Six tries, a hidden five-letter word, and as many rounds as you like.
After each guess the tiles turn green, yellow or gray: green means the letter is in the right spot, yellow means it is in the word but somewhere else, and gray means it is not in the word at all. When the round is over, tap New word and go again. Play two rounds on a coffee break or two hundred on a long flight. The game never runs out, and it never makes you wait until tomorrow.
The answers are real, everyday English words, drawn from a list of 2,044 common five-letter words, and your guesses are checked against 9,032 valid words, so ordinary words are not rejected as "not in word list." The dictionary is built from SCOWL, the open word lists behind many spell checkers, with separate American, British, Canadian and Australian spelling.
Why play the infinite version?
- Practice without pressure. Try a new starting word ten rounds in a row and find out whether it really saves you a guess.
- Build a win streak. Every round you solve adds to your wins in a row. Give up on a word and the streak starts over, so it actually means something.
- Challenge a friend. Tap the link button to send the exact word you are playing. They get the same puzzle and you compare scores. The link never shows the word.
- Learn as you go. After each round you see a short dictionary definition of the answer, so the odd word you did not know sticks.
Pick your length and your spelling
Five letters is the classic, but it is only the start. Four letters is fast and surprisingly tricky, six and seven letters reward a big vocabulary, and eight and nine letters come with seven guesses for a real workout. British, Canadian or Australian? Switch the dictionary in Settings (the gear button), or play on the UK, Australian or Canadian page, where colour, favour and centre are the right answers.

Is this the same as Wordle?

Can a friend play the same word?
Yes. Tap the link button next to New word (or Challenge a friend when a round ends) and send the link. It opens your exact word on their device without showing it.
Which words count as valid guesses?
Any real English word of the right length in our dictionary, which accepts 9,032 five-letter words. Plurals and past tenses are fine as guesses; the answers themselves are common base words like crane or plant.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It is built for phones first, works with the on-screen keyboard or a physical one, and you can add it to your home screen to play like an app.
